Qingfeng (\u6e05\u98ce) began as an algorithm against title deception and, from version 2.0, targets deceptive downloads<\/strong>. Baidu’s definition of a download site is broad: anything offering software, games, novels or video for download.<\/p>\n

The three principles<\/h2>\n

  1. The site itself must provide genuinely available resources<\/strong> that meet the user’s need.<\/li>\n
  2. Download resources and services must not be dead.<\/li>\n
  3. No inducing users to download through content unrelated to the resource.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    What “title” means here<\/h2>\n

    Baidu is explicit that the algorithm judges the <title><\/code> element in the HTML, and requires consistency between the title, the description and what the page actually delivers<\/strong>. Where the download runs through a cloud drive or a download manager, that must be stated in the title.<\/p>\n

    The rulings from Baidu’s own Q&A \u2014 the most useful part<\/h2>\n
      \n
    • Title says “download novel X”, body says “download our app to get novel X” \u2014 bundling is heavily harmful and the algorithm catches it.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Title says “game download”, body offers a game accelerator<\/em> \u2014 must be corrected; the accelerator has to be named in both title and body.<\/li>\n
    • Linking iOS software to the App Store \u2014 fine<\/strong>, no violation.<\/li>\n
    • Linking to a cloud drive \u2014 fine<\/strong>, provided what arrives matches the title.<\/li>\n
    • A pre-release game page with no download yet \u2014 permitted if the title says so<\/em> and the page states the release date.<\/li>\n
    • A PC resource adapted to mobile where mobile users cannot download \u2014 the page must warn that the resource is PC-only<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • Requiring a QR-code follow before the download \u2014 change it.<\/strong> Offer the download directly; you may invite a follow afterwards, but never as a condition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The principle underneath<\/h2>\n

      Every ruling reduces to one test: does the page deliver what its title promised, without a toll on the way? Not the mechanism, not the host \u2014 the match between promise and delivery.<\/p>\n

      No self-check tool<\/h2>\n
