Can I submit a Sitemap to tell you to index the new<br \/>\n    site rather than the old site?<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Submitting a Sitemap for the new site is a great first step, because that helps us learn about<br \/>\n  the new pages right away. Make sure you place the new Sitemap in the root directory of the new<br \/>\n  site as the Sitemap must be located on the same domain as the site URLs contained in it.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Another important thing to do is redirect visitors from the old site to the new one.
