Today, we want to<br \/>\n  share with the web community some of the best practices we&#8217;ve used and developed over the years,<br \/>\n  by open-sourcing<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/speed\/page-speed\/\" class=\"external-link\">Page Speed<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Page Speed is a tool we&#8217;ve been using internally to improve the performance of our web<br \/>\n  pages&mdash;it&#8217;s a Firefox Add-on integrated with<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/getfirebug.com\/\" class=\"external-link\">Firebug<\/a>.<br \/>\n  When you run Page Speed, you get immediate suggestions on how you can change your web pages to<br \/>\n  improve their speed. For example, Page Speed automatically optimizes images for you, giving you<br \/>\n  a compressed image that you can use immediately on your web site. It also identifies issues such<br \/>\n  as JavaScript and CSS loaded by your page that wasn&#8217;t actually used to display the page, which<br \/>\n  can help reduce time your users spend waiting for the page to download and display.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Page Speed&#8217;s suggestions are based on a set of commonly accepted<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/speed\/page-speed\/docs\/rules_intro\" class=\"external-link\">best practices<\/a><br \/>\n  that we and other websites implement. To help you understand the suggestions and rules, we have<br \/>\n  created detailed<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/speed\/page-speed\/docs\/using\" class=\"external-link\">documentation<\/a><br \/>\n  to describe the rationale behind each of the rules.
