{"id":25073,"date":"2019-05-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-08T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/new-in-structured-data-faq-and-how-to\/"},"modified":"2019-05-08T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-05-08T00:00:00","slug":"new-in-structured-data-faq-and-how-to","status":"publish","type":"ar_kb","link":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/new-in-structured-data-faq-and-how-to\/","title":{"rendered":"New in structured data: FAQ and How-to"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"gargardate\">Wednesday, May 08, 2019<\/p>\n<p>\n  Over the last few weeks, we&#8217;ve been discussing structured data: first providing<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/enriching-search-results-through-structured-data\/\">best practices<\/a><br \/>\n  and then showing how to<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/monitoring-structured-data-with-search-console\/\">monitor it with Search Console<\/a>.<br \/>\n  Today we are announcing support for FAQ and How-to structured data on Google Search and the<br \/>\n  Google Assistant, including new reports in Search Console to monitor how your site is performing.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In this post, we provide details to help you implement structured data on your FAQ and how-to<br \/>\n  pages in order to make your pages eligible to feature on Google Search as rich results and<br \/>\n  How-to Actions for the Assistant. We also show examples of how to monitor your search appearance<br \/>\n  with new Search Console enhancement reports.\n<\/p>\n<aside class=\"note\">\n  Disclaimer: Google does not guarantee that your structured data will show up in search results,<br \/>\n  even if your page is marked up correctly. To determine whether a result gets a rich treatment,<br \/>\n  Google algorithms use a variety of additional signals to make sure that users see rich results<br \/>\n  when their content best serves the user&#8217;s needs. Learn more about<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/structured-data-guidelines\/\">structured data guidelines<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/aside>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-on-search-and-the-google-assistant\" tabindex=\"-1\">How-to on Search and the Google Assistant<\/h2>\n<p>\n  How-to rich results provide users with richer previews of web results that guide users through<br \/>\n  step-by-step tasks. For example, if you provide information on how to tile a kitchen backsplash,<br \/>\n  tie a tie, or build a treehouse, you can add How-to structured data to your pages to enable the<br \/>\n  page to appear as a rich result on Search and a How-to Action for the Assistant.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Add structured data to the steps, tools, duration, and other properties to enable a How-to rich<br \/>\n  result for your content on the search page. If your page uses images or video for each step,<br \/>\n  make sure to mark up your visual content to enhance the preview and expose a more visual<br \/>\n  representation of your content to users. This<br \/>\n  feature lets you expand your content to new surfaces, to help users complete tasks wherever they<br \/>\n  are, and interactively progress through the steps using voice commands.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  As shown in the Google Home Hub example below, the Assistant provides a conversational, hands-free<br \/>\n  experience that can help users complete a task. This is an incredibly lightweight way for web<br \/>\n  developers to expand their content to the Assistant. For<br \/>\n  example, an FAQ page on an e-commerce website might provide answers on shipping destinations,<br \/>\n  purchase options, return policies, and refund processes. By using<br \/>\n  <code>FAQPage<\/code> structured data, you<br \/>\n  can make your content eligible to display these questions and answers to display directly on<br \/>\n  Google Search and the Assistant, helping users to quickly find answers to frequently asked<br \/>\n  questions.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  FAQ structured data is only for official questions and answers; don&#8217;t add FAQ structured data on<br \/>\n  forums or other pages where users can submit answers to questions &#8211; in that case, use the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/qa-qapage-structured-data\/\">Q&amp;A Page markup<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  You can learn more about implementation details in the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/latest-documentation-updates\/\">FAQ developer documentation<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\">\n  <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"FAQ on Search\" height=\"400\"\n       src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-3cac0b520ab5.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"342\" \/>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n  To provide more ways for users to access your content, FAQ answers can also be surfaced on the<br \/>\n  Google Assistant.
