\n As we progress with
\n the migration<\/a>
\n to the new Search Console experience, we will be saying farewell to one of our settings: preferred
\n domain.\n<\/p>\n

\n It’s common for a website to have the same content on multiple URLs. For example, it might have
\n the same content on https:\/\/example.com\/<\/code> as on
\n https:\/\/www.example.com\/index.html<\/code>. To make things easier, when our
\n systems recognize that, we’ll pick one URL as the “canonical” for Search. You can still tell us
\n your preference in multiple ways if there’s something specific you want us to pick (see
\n paragraph below). But if you don’t have a preference, we’ll choose the best option we find. Note
\n that with the deprecation we will no longer use any existing Search Console preferred domain
\n configuration.\n<\/p>\n

\n help center article. Here are some of the options available to you:\n<\/p>\n

  1. \n Use rel=\"canonical\"<\/code> link tag on HTML pages\n <\/li>\n
  2. \n Use rel=\"canonical\"<\/code> HTTP header\n <\/li>\n
  3. \n Use a sitemap\n <\/li>\n
  4. \n Use 301<\/code> redirects for retired URLs\n <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
