{"id":25152,"date":"2020-08-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/rich-results-and-search-console-webmaster-conference-lightning-talk\/"},"modified":"2020-08-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-08-11T00:00:00","slug":"rich-results-and-search-console-webmaster-conference-lightning-talk","status":"publish","type":"ar_kb","link":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/rich-results-and-search-console-webmaster-conference-lightning-talk\/","title":{"rendered":"Rich Results and Search Console Webmaster Conference Lightning Talk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"gargardate\">Tuesday, August 11, 2020<\/p>\n<p>\n    A few weeks ago we held another<br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLKoqnv2vTMUNf6w9wUu7RgxHkaTrq2Zpf\" class=\"external-link\">Webmaster Conference Lightning Talk<\/a>,<br \/>\n    this time about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B4MlM1sJ5ZE\" class=\"external-link\">Rich Results and Search Console<\/a>.<br \/>\n    During the talk we hosted a live chat and a lot of viewers asked questions &#8211; we tried to answer<br \/>\n    all we could, but our typing skills didn&#8217;t match the challenge&#8230;so we thought we&#8217;d follow up on<br \/>\n    the questions posed in this blog post.\n  <\/p>\n<p>\n    If you missed the video, you can watch it below: it discusses how to get started with rich<br \/>\n    results and use Search Console to optimize your search appearance in Google Search.\n  <\/p>\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\"><\/div>\n<h2 id=\"rich-results-and-search-console-faqs\" tabindex=\"-1\">Rich Results and Search Console FAQs<\/h2>\n<div itemscope itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/FAQPage\">\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"will-a-site-rank-higher-against-competitors-if-it-implements-structured-data\" tabindex=\"-1\">Will a site rank higher against competitors if it implements structured data?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\"><br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/structured-data-intro\/\">Structured data<\/a><br \/>\n          by itself is not a generic ranking factor. However, it can help Google to understand what<br \/>\n          the page is about, which can make it easier for us to show it where relevant and make it<br \/>\n          eligible for additional search experiences.<br \/>\n        <\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"which-structured-data-would-you-recommend-to-use-in-ecommerce-category-pages\" tabindex=\"-1\">Which structured data would you recommend to use in Ecommerce category pages?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">You don&#8217;t need to mark up the products on a category page, a Product<br \/>\n          should only be marked up when they are the primary element on a page.<\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"how-much-content-should-be-included-in-my-structured-data-can-there-be-too-much\" tabindex=\"-1\">How much content should be included in my structured data? Can there be too much?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">There is no limit to how much structured data you can implement on<br \/>\n          your pages, but make sure you&#8217;re sticking to the<br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/structured-data-guidelines\/\">general guidelines<\/a>.<br \/>\n          For example the markup should always be visible to users and representative of the main<br \/>\n          content of the page.<\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"what-exactly-are-faq-clicks-and-impressions-based-on\" tabindex=\"-1\">What exactly are FAQ clicks and impressions based on?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/latest-documentation-updates\/\">Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) page<\/a><br \/>\n          contains a list of questions and answers pertaining to a particular topic. Properly marked<br \/>\n          up FAQ pages may be eligible to have a rich result on Search and an Action on the Google<br \/>\n          Assistant, which can help site owners reach the right users. These rich results include<br \/>\n          snippets with frequently asked questions, allowing users to expand and collapse answers to<br \/>\n          them. Every time such a result appears in Search results for a user it will be counted as<br \/>\n          an impression on Search Console, and if the user clicks to visit the website it will be<br \/>\n          counted as a click. Clicks to expand and collapse the search result will not be counted as<br \/>\n          clicks on Search Console as they do not lead the user to the website. You can check<br \/>\n          impressions and clicks on your FAQ rich results using the &#8216;Search appearance&#8217; tab in the<br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/7576553\" class=\"external-link\">Search Performance report<\/a>.<\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"will-google-show-rich-results-for-reviews-made-by-the-review-host-site\" tabindex=\"-1\">Will Google show rich results for reviews made by the review host site?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">Reviews must not be written or provided by the business or content<br \/>\n          provider. According to our<br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/review-snippet-review-aggregaterating-structured-data\/#guidelines\">review snippets guidelines<\/a>:<br \/>\n          &#8220;Ratings must be sourced directly from users&#8221; &#8211; publishing reviews written by the business<br \/>\n          itself are against the guidelines and might trigger a<br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9044175#spammy-structured-markup\" class=\"external-link\">Manual Action<\/a>.<\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"there-are-schema-types-that-are-not-used-by-google,-why-should-we-use-them\" tabindex=\"-1\">There are schema types that are not used by Google, why should we use them?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">Google supports a number of<br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/structured-data-types\/\">schema types<\/a>,<br \/>\n          but other search engines can use different types to surface rich results, so you might<br \/>\n          want to implement it for them.<\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"why-do-rich-results-that-previously-appeared-in-search-sometimes-disappear\" tabindex=\"-1\">Why do rich results that previously appeared in Search sometimes disappear?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">The Google algorithm tailors search results to create what it thinks<br \/>\n          is the best search experience for each user, depending on many variables, including search<br \/>\n          history, location, and device type. In some cases, it may determine that one feature is<br \/>\n          more appropriate than another, or even that a plain blue link is best. Check the<br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/7552505\" class=\"external-link\">Rich Results Status report<\/a>.<br \/>\n          If you don&#8217;t see a drop in the number of valid items, or a spike in errors, your<br \/>\n          implementation should be fine.<\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"how-can-i-verify-my-dynamically-generated-structured-data\" tabindex=\"-1\">How can I verify my dynamically generated structured data?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">The safest way to check your structured data implementation is to<br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9012289\" class=\"external-link\">inspect the URL<\/a> on<br \/>\n          Search Console. This will provide information about Google&#8217;s indexed version of a specific<br \/>\n          page. You can also use the <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gle\/richresults\" class=\"external-link\">Rich Results Test<\/a><br \/>\n          public tool to get a verdict. If you don&#8217;t see the structured data through those tools,<br \/>\n          your markup is not valid.<\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"how-can-i-add-structured-data-in-wordpress\" tabindex=\"-1\">How can I add structured data in WordPress?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">There are a number of<br \/>\n          <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/search\/structured+data\/\" class=\"external-link\">WordPress plugins<\/a><br \/>\n          available that could help with adding structured data. Also check your theme settings, it<br \/>\n          might also support some types of markup.<\/span>\n      <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\">\n<h3 itemprop=\"name\" id=\"with-the-deprecation-of-the-structured-data-testing-tool,-will-the-rich-results-test-support-structured-data-that-is-not-supported-by-google-search\" tabindex=\"-1\">With the deprecation of the Structured Data Testing Tool, will the<br \/>\n          Rich Results Test support structured data that is not supported by Google Search?<\/h3>\n<p itemscope itemprop=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n        <span itemprop=\"text\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gle\/richresults\" class=\"external-link\">Rich Results Test<\/a><br \/>\n          supports all structured data that triggers a rich result on Google Search, and as Google<br \/>\n          creates new experiences for more structured data types we&#8217;ll add support for them in this<br \/>\n          test.
