Since we launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9216516\" class=\"external-link\">Discover<\/a><br \/>\n  and <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/10083653\" class=\"external-link\">Google News<\/a> performance reports, we\u2019ve been receiving requests from<br \/>\n  users to also add these stats to the <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/webmaster-tools\/search-console-api-original\/v3\/searchanalytics\" class=\"external-link\">Search Analytics API<\/a>.<br \/>\n  We are happy to announce that this is happening today.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The <span><code>searchType<\/code><\/span> parameter, which previously enabled you to filter API calls by <span><code>news<\/code><\/span>,<br \/>\n  <span><code>video<\/code><\/span>, <span><code>image<\/code><\/span>, and <span><code>web<\/code><\/span>, will be renamed to<br \/>\n  <span><code>type<\/code><\/span> and will support two additional parameters: <span><code>discover<\/code><\/span> (for Google Discover) and<br \/>\n  <span><code>googleNews<\/code><\/span> (for Google News). Please note that while we renamed the parameter to <span><code>type<\/code><\/span>,<br \/>\n  we\u2019re still supporting the old name <span><code>searchType<\/code><\/span>.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-72457041661e.png\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Sample Search Analytics API call with new parameters\" title=\"Sample Search Analytics API call with new parameters\"><\/p>\n<p>\nIn the Search Console Performance reports, some metrics and dimensions are compatible only with some data types; for example, queries and positions are not supported by<br \/>\n  the Google Discover report.
