With it, Baidu substitutes the mobile URL in mobile results and consolidates the signals.<\/p>\n<h2>The three adaptation methods<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rule-based adaptation<\/strong> \u2014 a pattern that transforms PC URLs into mobile URLs. Efficient where the structures correspond exactly; brittle where they do not.<\/li>\n<li><strong>URL pair submission<\/strong> \u2014 an explicit list of PC-to-mobile pairs. Laborious and exact.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Meta annotation<\/strong> \u2014 declaring the relationship in the page itself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Responsive sites need none of this: one URL serves both, and Baidu prefers that arrangement precisely because there is nothing to declare and nothing to break.<\/p>\n<h2>Why validation fails \u2014 the common causes<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The mobile page is not indexed.<\/strong> Adaptation cannot be validated against a page Baidu does not have; this is the single most frequent cause and it is often mistaken for a rule error.<\/li>\n<li>The rule produces URLs that do not resolve, or resolve to the wrong page.<\/li>\n<li>The pairs are not genuine equivalents \u2014 several PC pages mapped to one mobile page, or a mapping to the mobile home page.<\/li>\n<li>The mobile page is blocked, redirects, or does not answer <code>200<\/code> for the mobile spider.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The structural advice<\/h2>\n<p>If the site is being rebuilt anyway, build it responsive and remove this whole category of work. Separate mobile sites require the adaptation relationship to be maintained for every URL, forever, and it silently breaks whenever the URL structure on either side changes.<\/p>\n<h2>Checking<\/h2>\n<p>Confirm the mobile page is indexed first, then validate the relationship, then verify in the console that mobile results are showing the mobile URL.
