Some of the information may be outdated (for example, some images may be missing, and some links may not work anymore).<\/aside>\n<p class=\"gargardate\">Tuesday, February 26, 2008<\/p>\n<p>\n  If you&#8217;ve got JavaScript skills and you&#8217;d like to implement such things as Google Gadgets or Maps<br \/>\n  on your site, bring your laptops and come spend some time with us in Mountain View.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  This Friday, my team (Google Developer Programs) is hosting a hackathon to get you started with<br \/>\n  our JavaScript APIs. There will be plenty of our engineers around to answer questions. We&#8217;ll<br \/>\n  start with short introductions of the APIs and then break into groups for coding and camaraderie.<br \/>\n  There&#8217;ll be food, and prizes too.\n<\/p>\n<p>The featured JavaScript APIs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/apis\/gears\/\" class=\"external-link\">Google Gears<\/a><br \/>\n    &mdash;make your web applications work offline\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/apis\/ajaxsearch\/\" class=\"external-link\">Google AJAX Search\/Feeds<\/a><br \/>\n    &mdash;add Google search capabilities to your website\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/apis\/gadgets\/\" class=\"external-link\">Google Gadgets<\/a><br \/>\n    &mdash;create small programs that run on your iGoogle home page\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/apis\/maps\/index\" class=\"external-link\">Google Maps<\/a><br \/>\n    &mdash;embed and manipulate Google Maps on your web page\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/apis\/calendar\/developers_guide_js\" class=\"external-link\">Google Calendar<\/a><br \/>\n    &mdash;interact with Google Calendars on your website\n  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>When:<\/b> Friday, February 29 &#8211; two sessions (you&#8217;re welcome to attend both)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2-5:30 PM<\/li>\n<li>6-10 PM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n  <b>Where:<\/b><br \/>\n  The Googleplex<br \/>\n  Building 40<br \/>\n  1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy<br \/>\n  Mountain View, CA 94043<br \/>\n  Room: Seville Tech Talk, 2nd floor\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  See our<br \/>\n  <a  href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?ie=UTF8&amp;hl=en&amp;msa=0&amp;msid=110238536692955634646.00044701f0f6ba65cff6d&amp;t=h&amp;z=17\" class=\"external-link\">map<\/a><br \/>\n  for parking locations and where to check in.
