{"id":25228,"date":"2022-03-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/adding-context-to-structured-data-issues-in-search-console\/"},"modified":"2022-03-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T00:00:00","slug":"adding-context-to-structured-data-issues-in-search-console","status":"publish","type":"ar_kb","link":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/adding-context-to-structured-data-issues-in-search-console\/","title":{"rendered":"Adding context to structured data issues in Search Console"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"gargardate\">Monday, March 28, 2022<\/p>\n<p>\nTo help you identify structured data issues more effectively, starting tomorrow Search Console is adding more context to its error reporting.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  For example, if a website doesn&#8217;t provide the name of the author in <code><a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/review-snippet-review-aggregaterating-structured-data\/\">Review snippet<\/a><\/code><br \/>\n  markup, Search Console currently reports an error named <b>Missing field &#8220;name&#8221;<\/b>. Starting today, that error will be named<br \/>\n  <b>Missing field &#8220;name&#8221; (in &#8220;author&#8221;)<\/b>. The more detailed context in parenthesis can help you find the issues more easily in your structured data.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-6dc75d4c7060.png\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"Structured data issues context in Search Console\">\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThis change will impact all <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/7552505\" class=\"external-link\">Search Console rich result status reports<\/a>,<br \/>\n  the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9012289\" class=\"external-link\">Search Console URL inspection tool<\/a> and<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/search.google.com\/test\/rich-results\" class=\"external-link\">Rich Results Test<\/a>, even if you haven\u2019t changed your structured data markup:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All your open issues that refer to nested properties will be automatically closed (for example, the <code>Missing field \"name\"<\/code> issue<br \/>\n  in the example above).<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll see new open issues with more context about what&#8217;s missing (for example, the issue will say <code>Missing field \"name\" (in \"author\")<\/code>.<br \/>\n  To avoid overloading Search Console users with emails, we won&#8217;t send notifications on the creation of these new issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nPlease note that if you requested Search Console to validate a fix before the change, you will need to revalidate the new issues.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIn summary, this is simply a change in the issue name, it will not affect how Search Console detects errors, and all the issues that are being closed<br \/>\n  will be replaced by a new issue with the additional context in the issue name.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIf you have any questions or concerns, please reach out on the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/threads?thread_filter=(category:search_console)\" class=\"external-link\">Google<br \/>\n  Search Central Community<\/a> or on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/googlesearchc\" class=\"external-link\">Twitter<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"byline-author\">Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/moshe-samet-5465326\/\" class=\"external-link\">Moshe Samet<\/a>, Search Console Product Manager and <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/search\/blog\/authors\/ryan-levering\">Ryan Levering<\/a>, Google Search Engineering<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monday, March 28, 2022 To help you identify structured data issues more effectively, starting tomorrow Search Console is adding more context to its error reporting.
