When we<br \/>\n  do, we refer to this as a <i>spam update<\/i> and share when they happen on our<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/status.search.google.com\/products\/rGHU1u87FJnkP6W2GwMi\/history\" class=\"external-link\">list of Google Search ranking updates<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  For example, <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/how-we-fought-search-spam-on-google-in-2021\/\">SpamBrain<\/a> is our<br \/>\n  AI-based spam-prevention system. From time-to-time, we improve that system to make it better<br \/>\n  at spotting spam and to help ensure it catches new types of spam.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Sites that see a change after a spam update should review our <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/spam-policies\/\">spam policies<\/a><br \/>\n  to ensure they are complying with those. Sites that violate our policies may rank lower in<br \/>\n  results or not appear in results at all. Making changes may help a site improve if our<br \/>\n  automated systems learn over a period of months that the site complies with our spam policies.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In the case of a link spam update (an update that specifically deals with link spam), making<br \/>\n  changes might not generate an improvement. This is because when our systems remove the effects<br \/>\n  spammy links may have, any ranking benefit the links may have previously generated for your<br \/>\n  site is lost.
