Such a discrepancy<br \/>\n  may smell like a bug, but it&#8217;s actually by design. Your Sitemap report only reflects the URLs<br \/>\n  you&#8217;ve submitted in your Sitemap file. The <code>site<\/code> operator, on the other hand, takes<br \/>\n  into account whatever Google has crawled, which may include URLs not included in your Sitemap,<br \/>\n  such as newly added URLs or other URLs discovered via links.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Think of the <code>site operator<\/code> as a quick diagnosis of the general health of your site in<br \/>\n  Google&#8217;s index. <code>site<\/code> operator results can show you:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a rough estimate of how many pages have been indexed<\/li>\n<li>\n    one indication of if your site has been<br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/my-sites-been-hacked-now-what\/\">hacked<\/a>\n  <\/li>\n<li>if you have duplicate titles or snippets<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is an example query using the <code>site<\/code> operator:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"search result page for a site: query\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-6c60abe4d419.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>\n  Your Sitemap report provides more granular statistics about the URLs you submitted, such as the<br \/>\n  number of indexed URLs vs. the number submitted for crawling, and Sitemap-specific warnings or<br \/>\n  errors that may have occurred when Google tried to access your URLs.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Sitemap report in webmaster tools\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-0627111d45cf.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>\n  You can check out our Help Center for more on the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/site-search-operator\/\">site: operator<\/a><br \/>\n  and<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/sitemaps-overview\/\">Sitemaps<\/a>.
