Some of the information may be outdated (for example, some images may be missing, and some links may not work anymore).<\/aside>\n<p class=\"gargardate\">Friday, June 19, 2009<\/p>\n<p>\n  We just added external resource loading to our<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/improved-flash-indexing\/\">Flash indexing<\/a><br \/>\n  capabilities. This means that when a SWF file loads content from some other file\u2014whether it&#8217;s<br \/>\n  text, HTML, XML, another SWF, etc.\u2014we can index this external content too, and associate it with<br \/>\n  the parent SWF file and any documents that embed it.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  This new capability improves search quality by allowing relevant content contained in external<br \/>\n  resources to appear in response to users&#8217; queries. For example, this result currently comes up in<br \/>\n  response to the query<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=2002+VW+Transporter+888\" class=\"external-link\"><span>2002 VW Transporter 888<\/span><\/a>:\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"a search result with the query bolded\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-dee94630a7fb.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>\n  Prior to this launch, this result did not appear, because all of the relevant content is contained<br \/>\n  in an XML file loaded by a SWF file.\n<\/p>\n<p>To date, when Google encounters SWF files on the web, we can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n    Index textual content displayed as a user interacts with the file. We click buttons and enter<br \/>\n    input, just like a user would.\n  <\/li>\n<li>Discover links within Flash files.<\/li>\n<li>Load external resources and associate the content with the parent file.<\/li>\n<li>\n    Support common JavaScript techniques for embedding Flash, such as <code>SWFObject<\/code> and<br \/>\n    <code>SWFObject2<\/code>.\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    Index sites scripted with AS1 and AS2, even if the ActionScript is obfuscated.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"note\">\n      Update on June 19, 2009: We index sites with AS3 as well.
