Some of the information may be outdated (for example, some images may be missing, and some links may not work anymore).<\/aside>\n<p class=\"gargardate\">Wednesday, December 02, 2009<\/p>\n<p>\n  We&#8217;ve just launched Site Performance, an experimental feature in Webmaster Tools that shows you<br \/>\n  information about the speed of your site and suggestions for making it faster.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  This is a small step in our larger effort to<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/speed\/\" class=\"external-link\">make the web faster<\/a>.<br \/>\n  Studies have<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/radar.oreilly.com\/2009\/06\/bing-and-google-agree-slow-pag\" class=\"external-link\">repeatedly shown<\/a><br \/>\n  that speeding up your site leads to<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/googleresearch.blogspot.com\/2009\/06\/speed-matters.html\" class=\"external-link\">increased user retention and activity<\/a>,<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/radar.oreilly.com\/2009\/10\/watching-websites\" class=\"external-link\">higher revenue<\/a><br \/>\n  and<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/radar.oreilly.com\/2009\/07\/velocity-making-your-site-fast\" class=\"external-link\">lower costs<\/a>.<br \/>\n  Towards the goal of making every webpage load as fast as flipping the pages of a magazine, we have<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/speed\/\" class=\"external-link\">provided<\/a><br \/>\n  articles on best practices, active discussion forums and many tools to diagnose and fix speed<br \/>\n  issues.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Now we bring data and statistics specifically applicable to your site. On Site Performance, you&#8217;ll<br \/>\n  find how fast your pages load, how they&#8217;ve fared over time, how your site&#8217;s load time compares to<br \/>\n  that of other sites, examples of specific pages and their actual page load times, and<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/speed\/page-speed\/\" class=\"external-link\">Page Speed<\/a><br \/>\n  suggestions that can help reduce user-perceived latency. Our goal is to bring you specific and<br \/>\n  actionable speed information backed by data, so stay tuned for more of this in the future.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"screenshot of Site Performance\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-6d75b82a17f2.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>\n  The load time data is derived from aggregated information sent by users of your site who have<br \/>\n  installed the Google Toolbar and opted-in to its<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/publicpolicy.googleblog.com\/2009\/10\/using-toolbar-data-to-improve-your.html\" class=\"external-link\">enhanced features<\/a>.<br \/>\n  We only show the performance charts and tables when there&#8217;s enough data, so not all of them may<br \/>\n  be shown if your site has little traffic. The data currently represents a global average; a<br \/>\n  specific user may experience your site faster or slower than the average depending on their<br \/>\n  location and network conditions.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  This is a<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/support\/webmasters\/bin\/answer.py?answer=106792\" class=\"external-link\">Labs<\/a><br \/>\n  product that is still in development. We hope you find it useful.
