Some of the information may be outdated (for example, some images may be missing, and some links may not work anymore).<\/aside>\n<p>\n  Many organizations have multiple presences on the web. For example, Webmaster Tools lives at<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/search\">www.google.com\/webmasters<\/a>, but it also has a<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/googlesearchc\" class=\"external-link\">Twitter account<\/a> and a<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@GoogleSearchCentral\" class=\"external-link\">YouTube channel<\/a>.<br \/>\n  It&#8217;s important that visitors to these other properties have confidence that they are actually<br \/>\n  associated with the Webmaster Tools site. However to date it has been challenging for webmasters<br \/>\n  to manage which users can take actions on behalf of their site in different services.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Today we&#8217;re happy to announce a new feature in Webmaster Tools that allows webmasters to add<br \/>\n  &#8220;associates&#8221;&mdash;trusted users who can act on behalf of your site in other Google products.<br \/>\n  Unlike site owners and users, associates can&#8217;t view site data or take any site actions in<br \/>\n  Webmaster Tools, but they are authorized to perform specific tasks in other products.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  For this initial launch, members of YouTube&#8217;s partner program that have created a YouTube channel<br \/>\n  for their site can now link the two together. By doing this, your YouTube channel will be<br \/>\n  displayed as the &#8220;official channel&#8221; for your website.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Adding a partner website in the Youtube Channel settings\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-935e1af3167a.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"management-within-webmaster-tools\" tabindex=\"-1\">Management within Webmaster Tools<\/h2>\n<h3 id=\"to-add-or-change-associates:\" tabindex=\"-1\">To add or change associates:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>On the Webmaster Tools home page, click the site you want.<\/li>\n<li>\n    Under Configuration, click Associates.<br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"110\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-fa21fea5c9be.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\">\n  <\/li>\n<li>Click Add a new associate.<\/li>\n<li>In the text box, type the email address of the person you want to add.<\/li>\n<li>\n    Select the type of association you want.<br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"166\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-dccf1718d052.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\">\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    Click Add.<br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"110\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-572ffd419f8b.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\">\n  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"management-within-youtube\" tabindex=\"-1\">Management within YouTube<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s also possible for users to request association from a site&#8217;s webmaster.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your YouTube partner account.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the user menu and choose Settings &gt; Associated Website.<\/li>\n<li>\n    Fill in the page you would like to associate your channel with.<br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"126\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-2a2de2d1d6bc.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\">\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    Click Add. If you&#8217;re a verified owner of the site, you&#8217;re done. But if someone else in your<br \/>\n    organization manages the website, the association will be marked Pending. The owner receives a<br \/>\n    notification with an option to approve or deny the request.<br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"106\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-c125c15e81e0.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\">\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    After approval is granted, navigate back to this page and click Refresh to complete the<br \/>\n    association.\n  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n  Through associates, webmasters can easily and safely allow others to associate their website with<br \/>\n  YouTube channels.
