{"id":24743,"date":"2013-03-21T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-03-21T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/easier-management-of-website-verifications\/"},"modified":"2013-03-21T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-03-21T00:00:00","slug":"easier-management-of-website-verifications","status":"publish","type":"ar_kb","link":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/easier-management-of-website-verifications\/","title":{"rendered":"Easier management of website verifications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"gargardate\">Thursday, March 21, 2013<\/p>\n<p>\n  To help webmasters manage the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9008080\" class=\"external-link\">verified<\/a><br \/>\n  owners for their websites in<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/search.google.com\/search-console\" class=\"external-link\">Webmaster Tools<\/a>,<br \/>\n  we&#8217;ve recently introduced three new features:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>\n      <strong>Verification details view<\/strong>: You can now see the methods used to verify an<br \/>\n      owner for your site. In the Manage owners page for your site, you can now find the new<br \/>\n      Verification details link. This screenshot shows the verification details of a user who is<br \/>\n      verified using both an HTML file uploaded to the site and a <code>meta<\/code> tag:\n    <\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Verification details view in Webmaster Tools\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-e5854b819b39.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>\n      Where appropriate, the Verification details will have links to the correct URL on your site<br \/>\n      where the verification can be found to help you find it faster.\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\n      <strong>Requiring the verification method be removed from the site before unverifying an<br \/>\n        owner<\/strong>: You now need to remove the verification method from your site before<br \/>\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/7687615\" class=\"external-link\">unverifying an owner<\/a><br \/>\n      from Webmaster Tools. Webmaster Tools now checks the method that the owner used to verify<br \/>\n      ownership of the site, and will show an error message if the verification is still found. For<br \/>\n      example, this is the error message shown when an unverification was attempted while the DNS<br \/>\n      <code>CNAME<\/code> verification method was still found on the DNS records of the domain:\n    <\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"An error showing that unverification was unsuccessful\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-c1044e3a694b.png\" loading=\"lazy\">\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\n      <strong>Shorter <code>CNAME<\/code> verification string<\/strong>: We&#8217;ve slightly modified the<br \/>\n      <code>CNAME<\/code> verification string to make it shorter to support a larger number of DNS<br \/>\n      providers. Some systems limit the number of characters that can be used in DNS records, which<br \/>\n      meant that some users were not able to use the<br \/>\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9008080\" class=\"external-link\"><code>CNAME<\/code> verification method<\/a>.<br \/>\n      We&#8217;ve now made the <code>CNAME<\/code> verification method have a fewer number of characters.<br \/>\n      Existing <code>CNAME<\/code> verifications will continue to be valid.\n    <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n  We hope this changes make it easier for you to use Webmaster Tools.
