{"id":25281,"date":"2023-06-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-12T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/improving-prominence-reporting-in-the-search-console-video-indexing-report\/"},"modified":"2023-06-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2023-06-12T00:00:00","slug":"improving-prominence-reporting-in-the-search-console-video-indexing-report","status":"publish","type":"ar_kb","link":"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/improving-prominence-reporting-in-the-search-console-video-indexing-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Improving prominence reporting in the Search Console video indexing report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"gargardate\">Monday, June 12, 2023<\/p>\n<p>\nOne of the main reasons for Google not to index a video on your pages is that Google couldn&#8217;t identify a<br \/>\n  prominent enough video to qualify as the video for this page.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nIn order to help you better understand this issue and provide you with more actionable reasons, we are breaking<br \/>\n  down the &#8220;Google could not determine the prominent video on the page&#8221; reason into three more specific<br \/>\n  reasons. Here&#8217;s a summary of what you need to do to resolve these issues and make your video eligible for indexing:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Video outside the viewport<\/strong>: Reposition the video on the page so that the entire<br \/>\n  video is inside the renderable area of the page and seen when the page loads.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Video too small<\/strong>: Increase the height of the video so that it&#8217;s larger than 140px or<br \/>\n  the width of the video so that it&#8217;s larger than 140px and at least a third of the page&#8217;s width.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Video too tall<\/strong>: Decrease the height of the video so that it&#8217;s smaller than 1080px.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/static\/search\/blog\/images\/video-indexing-specific-issues.png\" alt=\"Search Console video indexing report including the new reasons\">\n<\/p>\n<p>\nSince the Search Console video indexing report shows 3 months of historical data, you may still see the &#8220;Google could not<br \/>\n  determine the prominent video on the page&#8221; in the list of reason in the<br \/>\n  Video Indexing report, but it has no effect on your pages.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe new reasons will also appear when applicable while<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9012289\" class=\"external-link\">inspecting a<br \/>\n  specific video page URL<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWe hope these changes will make it easier for you to understand video indexing,<br \/>\n  and fix any issues on your video pages.
