B2B and supply-directory pages are governed by the Xiyu algorithm, and the offences it names are the ordinary working habits of the sector — which is precisely why it exists.

The two problem areas

Titles: claiming to be an official site when you are not; stacking near-identical keywords; inserting garbled characters or special symbols; putting contact or benefit information in the title.

Body content: incomplete text with disguised contact details repeatedly inserted; contact details watermarked heavily across images; scraped and stitched product information that tells the reader nothing about the product.

The disguise techniques Baidu names

Phone numbers written with Latin letters, homophone characters, special symbols or full-width digits — 5992⑧⑧⑧
, ***13800138000***
. These exist to evade platform filters, and Baidu treats the act of disguising as the signal. The effort to hide the contact detail is what identifies the page.

What Baidu asks for instead

  • A title that states the page’s subject — concise, related to the content, naming the core product or service. Baidu’s own examples are ordinary listings: a cable category page naming the product, price context and site name; a company page naming the services actually offered.

  • Complete, truthful product information with no inducement or deception.

  • Contact details in a fixed area of the page, in normal characters.

Why the sector drifts into this

A B2B directory earns when a buyer makes contact, so every incentive pushes toward repeating the number everywhere, claiming official status, and stuffing the title with every phrase a buyer might type. Each step is individually rational and collectively produces the exact page Xiyu describes.

    The compliance checklist

    1. Does the title claim official status the company does not have?

    2. Does it stack synonyms, symbols or contact details?

    3. Are phone numbers written normally, in one place?

    4. Do product pages contain real specifications rather than assembled text?

    5. Are image watermarks readable rather than dominating?
