Some of the information may be outdated (for example, some images may be missing, and some links may not work anymore).<\/aside>\n<p class=\"gargardate\">Saturday, August 05, 2006<\/p>\n<p>\n  With our latest release, we&#8217;ve done more than just change our name&mdash;we&#8217;ve listened to you and<br \/>\n  added some features and enhanced others as a result.\n<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"telling-us-your-preferred-domain-url-format\" tabindex=\"-1\">Telling us your preferred domain URL format<\/h2>\n<p>\n  Some webmasters want their sites indexed under the www version of their domain; others want<br \/>\n  their sites indexed without the www. Which do you prefer?<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/support\/webmasters\/bin\/answer.py?answer=44231\" class=\"external-link\">Now you can tell us<\/a><br \/>\n  and we&#8217;ll do our best to do what you like when crawling and indexing your site. Note that it might<br \/>\n  take some time for changes to be reflected in our index, but if you notice that your site is<br \/>\n  currently indexed using both versions of your domain, tell us your preference.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-b4f23d2f5ab4.png\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"preferred domain setting in Google Sitemaps tool\"><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"downloading-query-stats-for-all-subfolders\" tabindex=\"-1\">Downloading query stats for all subfolders<\/h2>\n<p>\n  Do you like seeing the top queries that returned your site? Now you can download a CSV file that<br \/>\n  shows you the top queries for each of your subfolders in the results.\n<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"seeing-revamped-crawl-errors\" tabindex=\"-1\">Seeing revamped crawl errors<\/h2>\n<p>\n  Now you can see at a glance the types of errors we get when crawling your site. You can see a<br \/>\n  table of the errors on the summary page, with counts for each error type. On the crawl errors<br \/>\n  page, you can still see the number of errors for type, as well as filter errors by date.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-09345735507a.png\" loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"filtering feature in the crawl errors report in Google Sitemaps tool\"><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"managing-verification\" tabindex=\"-1\">Managing verification<\/h2>\n<p>\n  If somebody from your team no longer has write access to a site and should no longer be a verified<br \/>\n  owner of it, you can remove the verification file or <code>meta<\/code> tag for that person. When we<br \/>\n  periodically check verification, that person&#8217;s account will no longer be verified for the site.<br \/>\n  We&#8217;ve added the ability to<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/7687615\" class=\"external-link\">let you request that check<\/a><br \/>\n  so that you don&#8217;t have to wait for our periodic process. Simply click the &#8220;Manage site<br \/>\n  verification&#8221; link, make note of the verification files and <code>meta<\/code> tags that may exist for the site,<br \/>\n  remove any that are no longer valid, and click the <b>&#8220;Reverify all site owners&#8221;<\/b> button.
