If the request fails due<br \/>\n  to an error condition that might be temporary, APIs-Google will resend the notification. If<br \/>\n  the request still doesn&#8217;t succeed, it will continue to retry\u2014based on an exponential backoff<br \/>\n  schedule\u2014up to a maximum of several days.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The rate at which APIs-Google accesses your site varies by how many push notification requests<br \/>\n  were created for servers on your site, by how fast the monitored resources are getting<br \/>\n  updated, and by the number of retries occurring. As a result, the APIs-Google traffic patterns<br \/>\n  can be consistent in some scenarios, but in other scenarios the traffic can be sporadic or<br \/>\n  spiky.\n<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"prepare-your-site-for-apis-google\" tabindex=\"-1\">Prepare your site for APIs-Google<\/h2>\n<p>\n  APIs-Google uses HTTPS to deliver push notifications, so it requires your site to have a valid<br \/>\n  SSL certificate. <b>Invalid<\/b> certificates include the following:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self-signed certificates.<\/li>\n<li>Certificates signed by an untrusted source.<\/li>\n<li>Certificates that have been revoked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n  Avoid unnecessary retry requests by ensuring that your application is well-designed and<br \/>\n  responds promptly to notification messages (within seconds).\n<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"prevent-apis-google-from-calling-your-site\" tabindex=\"-1\">Prevent APIs-Google from calling your site<\/h2>\n<p>\n  To prevent APIs-Google from calling your site, do one of the following:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n    <b>Unregister for notifications.<\/b> If you administer a domain that has<br \/>\n    subdomains or URL subspaces that are owned or administered separately, one of the subdomain<br \/>\n    owners may have set up an application that uses push notifications. If you want to block<br \/>\n    APIs-Google, contact anyone who might have set up an application like this and ask them to<br \/>\n    disable it.\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    <b>Use robots.txt.<\/b> The user agent to specify in the robots.txt file is<br \/>\n    <code>APIs-Google<\/code> &#8211; <code>APIs-Google<\/code> does not follow rules for the Googlebot user agent.<br \/>\n    There may be a small delay before <code>APIs-Google<\/code> discovers your robots.txt file change. If<br \/>\n    <code>APIs-Google<\/code> continues to send messages to your site several days after you&#8217;ve blocked it in<br \/>\n    robots.txt, check that the robots.txt is in the correct location.\n  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"verify-the-caller\" tabindex=\"-1\">Verify the caller<\/h2>\n<p>\n  If you suspect that you are receiving spoofed requests, you can<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/verify-requests-from-google-crawlers-and-fetchers\/\">verify that a bot accessing your server really is calling from google.com<\/a>.<br \/>\n  Search your logs for any IP addresses identifying themselves as the<br \/>\n  <code>APIs-Google<\/code> user agent; a reverse DNS lookup shows the googlebot.com or<br \/>\n  google.com domain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>APIs-Google is the user agent used by Google APIs to deliver push notifications.
