The AI tool developed by Alien Road leverages advanced data analytics, taking into account factors such as building size, energy efficiency, and environmental conditions to assess mould risks accurately. In collaboration with construction firm BuildEco, the technology is currently being deployed across small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the construction sector.

Dr. Dauda emphasizes that the ultimate goal is to make this technology accessible to landlords, tenants, and homeowners. “That’s where its true impact will be felt,” he states. “We are working towards scaling up the solution to support social housing initiatives and eventually achieve full commercial rollout.”

Future developments aim to integrate the AI tool with smart home systems, enabling real-time data collection via smart meters. This would allow for continuous monitoring and personalized recommendations to prevent mould growth effectively.
