While we&#8217;ve kept improving our machine translation system since then, we may not reach<br \/>\n  perfection until someone invents<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/AI-complete\" class=\"external-link\">full-blown Artificial Intelligence<\/a>.<br \/>\n  In other words, you&#8217;ll still sometimes run into translations we didn&#8217;t get quite right.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  So today, we&#8217;re launching a new experimental feature (in beta) that lets you customize and improve<br \/>\n  the way the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/translate.google.com\/manager\/\" class=\"external-link\">Website Translator<\/a><br \/>\n  translates your site. Once you add the customization <code>meta<\/code> tag to a webpage, visitors will see your<br \/>\n  customized translations whenever they translate the page, even when they use the translation<br \/>\n  feature in<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/chrome\/intl\/en-GB\/more\/features\" class=\"external-link\">Chrome<\/a><br \/>\n  and<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/toolbar\/ie\/index\" class=\"external-link\">Google Toolbar<\/a>.<br \/>\n  They&#8217;ll also now be able to<br \/>\n  &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/googleblog.blogspot.com\/2007\/03\/suggest-better-translation.html\" class=\"external-link\">suggest a better translation<\/a>&#8216;<br \/>\n  when they notice a translation that&#8217;s not quite right, and later you can accept and use that<br \/>\n  suggestion on your site.\n<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"to-get-started:\" tabindex=\"-1\">To get started:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>\n    Add the<br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/translate.google.com\/manager\/\" class=\"external-link\">Website Translator<\/a><br \/>\n    plugin and customization <code>meta<\/code> tag to your website\n  <\/li>\n<li>Then translate a page into one of 60+ languages using the Website Translator<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"to-tweak-a-translation:\" tabindex=\"-1\">To tweak a translation:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Hover over a translated sentence to display the original text<\/li>\n<li>Click on &#8216;Contribute a better translation&#8217;<\/li>\n<li>\n    And finally, click on a phrase to choose an automatic<br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/googletranslate.blogspot.com\/2010\/12\/when-one-translation-just-isnt-enough\" class=\"external-link\">alternative translation<\/a><br \/>\n    &mdash;or just double-click to edit the translation directly.\n  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n  For example, if you&#8217;re translating your site into Spanish, and you want to translate Cat not to<br \/>\n  <span>gato<\/span> but to Cat, you can tweak it as follows:\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Dialog for contributing a better translation in the Google Translate website plugin\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-5ef5070a51f0.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>\n  If you&#8217;re signed in, the corrections made on your site will go live right away&mdash;the next time<br \/>\n  a visitor translates a page on your website, they&#8217;ll see your correction.  If one of your visitors<br \/>\n  contributes a better translation, the suggestion will wait until you approve it. You can also<br \/>\n  invite other editors to make corrections and add translation glossary entries. You can learn more<br \/>\n  about these new features in the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/translate\/#2534535\" class=\"external-link\">Help Center<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  This new experimental feature is currently available without payment.
