Some of the information may be outdated (for example, some images may be missing, and some links may not work anymore).<\/aside>\n<p class=\"gargardate\">Monday, June 04, 2012<\/p>\n<aside class=\"note\">\n<p>\n    <strong>Update in January 2014<\/strong>: We&#8217;ve expanded our support for this easier domain<br \/>\n    verification to many more domain name providers:\n  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Afrihost<\/li>\n<li>Domainmonster.com<\/li>\n<li>Gandi.net<\/li>\n<li>GMO<\/li>\n<li>Heart Internet<\/li>\n<li>Hover<\/li>\n<li>LCN.com<\/li>\n<li>Name.com<\/li>\n<li>TransIP.eu<\/li>\n<li>Wix<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/aside>\n<p>\n  Today we&#8217;re announcing a new initiative that makes it easier for users to verify domains for<br \/>\n  Google services like<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/google.com\/webmasters\/tools\" class=\"external-link\">Webmaster Tools<\/a> and<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/google.com\/a\" class=\"external-link\">Google Apps<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  First, some background on this initiative. To use certain Google services with your website or<br \/>\n  domain, you currently have to<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/bin\/answer.py?answer=35179\" class=\"external-link\">verify<\/a><br \/>\n  that you<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/bin\/answer.py?answer=60216&amp;topic=2413164&amp;ctx=topic\" class=\"external-link\">own<\/a><br \/>\n  the site or domain, since these services can share sensitive data (like<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/7576553\" class=\"external-link\">search queries<\/a>)<br \/>\n  or operate Internet-facing services (like<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/enterprise\/apps\/business\/products.html#gmail\" class=\"external-link\">hosted email<\/a>)<br \/>\n  on your behalf.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  One of our supported verification methods is domain verification. Currently this method requires<br \/>\n  a user to manually create a<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/bin\/answer.py?answer=183895\" class=\"external-link\">DNS <code>TXT<\/code> record<\/a><br \/>\n  to prove their ownership. For many users, this can be challenging and difficult to do.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  So now, in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.godaddy.com\/\" class=\"external-link\">Go Daddy<\/a><br \/>\n  and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enomcentral.com\/\" class=\"external-link\">eNom<\/a>, we&#8217;re introducing a simple, automated solution<br \/>\n  for domain verification that guides you through the process in a few easy steps.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  If your domain name records are managed by eNom or Go Daddy, in the Google site verification<br \/>\n  interface you will see a new, easier verification method as shown in these screenshots:\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Domain verification in Webmaster Tools with eNom as a domain provider\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-6d868541125d.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Domain verification in Webmaster Tools with GoDaddy as a domain provider\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-49fcde79b6b1.png\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p>\n  Selecting this method launches a pop-up window that asks you to log in to the provider using your<br \/>\n  existing account with them.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-cf481f9dd5fd.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-251ee11cd449.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\"><\/p>\n<p>\n  The first time you log in, you&#8217;ll be asked to authorize the provider to access the Google site<br \/>\n  verification service on your behalf.\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-3287ca75f8bc.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-fb566fc6e514.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\"><\/p>\n<p>Next you&#8217;ll be asked to confirm that you wish to verify the domain.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-64119f680b6d.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"135\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-697bd20c0bf5.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\"><\/p>\n<p>\n  And that&#8217;s it!
