Check out our current documentation on how to<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9008080\" class=\"external-link\">verify your site ownership<\/a>.<\/aside>\n<p>\n  In order to use Google services like<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/search.google.com\/search-console\" class=\"external-link\">Webmaster Tools<\/a><br \/>\n  and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/enterprise\/apps\/business\/\" class=\"external-link\">Google Apps<\/a><br \/>\n  you must verify that you own the site or domain. One way you can do this is by creating a<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/dns-verification-ftw\/\">DNS <code>TXT<\/code> record<\/a><br \/>\n  to prove your ownership of the domain. Now you can also use<br \/>\n  <b>DNS <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CNAME_record\" class=\"external-link\"><code>CNAME<\/code><\/a><br \/>\n  records<\/b> to verify ownership of your domains. This is a new domain verification option for<br \/>\n  users that are not able to create DNS <code>TXT<\/code> records for their domains.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  For example, if you own the domain <b>example.com<\/b>, you can verify your ownership of the domain<br \/>\n  by creating a DNS <code>CNAME<\/code> record as follows.\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n    Add the domain example.com to your account either in<br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/search.google.com\/search-console\" class=\"external-link\">Webmaster Tools<\/a><br \/>\n    or directly on the<br \/>\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/webmasters\/verification\/\" class=\"external-link\">Verification Home page<\/a>.<br \/>\n   <img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"126\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-25ce4b2d4b8f.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\">\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    Select the Domain Name Provider method of verification, then select your domain name provider that<br \/>\n    manages your DNS records or &#8220;Other&#8221; if your provider is not on this list.<br \/>\n   <img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"120\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-58126706313f.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\">\n  <\/li>\n<li>\n    Based on your selection you may either see the instructions to set a <code>CNAME<\/code> record or<br \/>\n    see a link to the option <b>Add a <code>CNAME<\/code> record<\/b>. Follow the instructions to add<br \/>\n    the specified <code>CNAME<\/code> record to your domain&#8217;s DNS configuration.<br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" aria-hidden=\"true\" alt height=\"99\" src=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/kb-gorsel\/g-1710baa2796f.png\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\">\n  <\/li>\n<li>Click the <b>Verify<\/b> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\n  When you click <b>Verify<\/b>, Google will check for the <code>CNAME<\/code> record and if<br \/>\n  everything works you will be added as a verified owner of the domain. Using this method<br \/>\n  automatically verifies you as the owner of all websites on this domain. For example, when you<br \/>\n  verify your ownership of example.com, you are automatically verified as an owner of<br \/>\n  www.example.com as well as subdomains such as blog.example.com.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Sometimes DNS records take a while to make their way across the Internet. If we don&#8217;t find the<br \/>\n  record immediately, we&#8217;ll check for it periodically and when we find the record we&#8217;ll make you a<br \/>\n  verified owner. To maintain your verification status don&#8217;t remove the record, even after<br \/>\n  verification succeeds.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  If you don&#8217;t have access to your DNS configuration at your domain name provider you can continue<br \/>\n  to use any of the other verification methods, such as the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/bin\/answer.py?answer=35658\" class=\"external-link\">HTML file<\/a>, the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/bin\/answer.py?answer=35659\" class=\"external-link\"><code>meta<\/code> tag<\/a> \u0438\u043b\u0438<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/bin\/answer.py?answer=185871\" class=\"external-link\">Google Analytics tag<\/a><br \/>\n  in order to verify that you own a site.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  If you have any questions please let us know via our<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/threads?hl=en&#038;thread_filter=(category:search_console)\" class=\"external-link\">Webmaster Help forum<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"byline-author\">Posted by Pooja Wagh, Software Engineer<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thursday, August 02, 2012 It&#8217;s been a while since we published this blog post.
