With SafeSearch, we help users to filter out<br \/>\n  explicit content.\n<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"how-safesearch-works\" tabindex=\"-1\">How SafeSearch works<\/h3>\n<p>\n  SafeSearch is designed to filter results that lead to visual depictions of:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Explicit sexual content of any type, including pornography<\/li>\n<li>Nudity<\/li>\n<li>Photo-realistic sex toys<\/li>\n<li>Sex-oriented dating or escort services<\/li>\n<li>Violence or gore<\/li>\n<li>Links to pages containing explicit content<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n  For example, SafeSearch is designed to filter out pages that contain images or videos that<br \/>\n  contain exposed breasts or genitals, as well as to filter pages with links, pop-ups, or ads that<br \/>\n  display or point to explicit content. It also aims to allow explicit content when it has an<br \/>\n  educational, documentary, scientific, or artistic (EDSA) value. SafeSearch relies on automated<br \/>\n  systems that use machine learning and a variety of signals to identify explicit content,<br \/>\n  including text, images, and videos on the hosting web page and in links.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Even when SafeSearch is off or set to blur, Google&#8217;s ranking and language understanding systems<br \/>\n  work to prevent unwanted exposure to sexually explicit and graphic violent content. Using query<br \/>\n  understanding algorithms, Google Search is designed to detect whether searches are seeking out<br \/>\n  explicit content, helping reduce the chances of encountering unwanted explicit search results.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Regardless of your SafeSearch setting, Google removes pages that violate our<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/websearch\/answer\/10622781\" class=\"external-link\">content policies<\/a> (such as child<br \/>\n   sexual abuse material). We also remove pages upon user request for<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/websearch\/troubleshooter\/3111061\" class=\"external-link\">personal information removal<\/a><br \/>\n   (for example content involving <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/websearch\/answer\/6302812\" class=\"external-link\">explicit personal imagery created or shared without consent<\/a>,<br \/>\n    \u0438\u043b\u0438 <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/websearch\/answer\/9116649\" class=\"external-link\">explicit non-consensual fake content<\/a>).\n<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"how-google-handles-removals\" tabindex=\"-1\">How Google handles sites with a significant amount of removals of violative sexually explicit content<\/h3>\n<p>\n  If we process a significant volume of valid removal requests involving a particular site, we use that as<br \/>\n  a signal to improve our results. In particular, regarding sexually explicit content:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>CSAM removals<\/b>: We always remove child sexual abuse material (CSAM) when it&#8217;s<br \/>\n    identified, either automatically or through the legal removals process. Adopting these<br \/>\n  measures is a best practice that helps manage content responsibly and mitigate risks associated<br \/>\n  with potentially harmful or illegal material, such as CSAM and<br \/>\n  non-consensual explicit content.\n<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"implement-proactive-csam-detection\" tabindex=\"-1\">Implementing proactive CSAM detection in user-generated<br \/>\n  content<\/h4>\n<p>\n  To prevent the distribution of child sexual abuse material, we recommend that platforms use<br \/>\n  industry-standard techniques such as hash matching for detecting known violative content and<br \/>\n  classifiers for detecting novel content. By proactively identifying and flagging potentially<br \/>\n  violative content, you can significantly enhance the safety of your platforms and contribute to<br \/>\n  the broader effort of combating child exploitation.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Learn more about our content safety tools and <a href=\"https:\/\/protectingchildren.google\/\" class=\"external-link\">Google&#8217;s commitment to fighting child sexual abuse and exploitation<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"allow-google-to-fetch\" tabindex=\"-1\">Allow Google to fetch your video content files <\/h3>\n<p>\n  Allowing Googlebot to <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/video-search\/#allow-fetch\">fetch your video files<\/a><br \/>\n  enables Google to understand the video content and reduces the chance of exposing users to<br \/>\n  violative explicit content, such as CSAM and non-consensual explicit content.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  If you don&#8217;t allow Google to fetch your video content files, Google can&#8217;t run automated<br \/>\n  protections against <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/websearch\/answer\/10622781#zippy=%2Cchild-sexual-abuse-imagery-or-exploitation-material\" class=\"external-link\">egregious violations such as CSAM<\/a>.<br \/>\n  Content that can&#8217;t be fetched may pose a risk to our users, so Google may demote or filter such<br \/>\n  pages where the embedded video content is unavailable and our automated systems determine that<br \/>\n  the page may contain explicit content. Not allowing Googlebot to fetch your video files may<br \/>\n  significantly affect the ranking of your explicit pages on Google Search, and especially in Video<br \/>\n  mode.\n<\/p>\n<aside class=\"note\">\n  If you&#8217;re concerned about exposing your video file too broadly, you can also verify if Googlebot<br \/>\n  requests to your server <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/verify-requests-from-google-crawlers-and-fetchers\/\">really are from Google<\/a>.<br \/>\n<\/aside>\n<h3 id=\"allow-googlebot-to-crawl\" tabindex=\"-1\">Allow Googlebot to crawl without age gate<\/h3>\n<p>\n  If you have content behind an age gate or other access restriction, be sure to allow Googlebot to<br \/>\n  crawl your content without triggering the age gate. You can do this by<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/verify-requests-from-google-crawlers-and-fetchers\/\">verifying Googlebot requests<\/a> and<br \/>\n  serving the content without age gate.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  If you don&#8217;t allow Googlebot to crawl without triggering the age gate, it may cause your site to<br \/>\n  rank poorly on Google Search. Google might not be able to fetch your content, including image or<br \/>\n  video bytes, and therefore not be able to effectively rank that page for relevant queries.<br \/>\n  Additionally, if you host some non-explicit content behind age-gate and Googlebot cannot see it,<br \/>\n  there is a higher chance that this content or even the whole site gets classified automatically<br \/>\n  as explicit, which will make it ineligible to appear when the SafeSearch filter is on.\n<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"group-explicit-pages\" tabindex=\"-1\">Group explicit pages in a separate domain or subdomain<\/h3>\n<p>\n  If your site contains significant amounts of explicit content and non-explicit content, we<br \/>\n  recommend grouping the explicit pages on a separate domain or subdomain. For example, you could<br \/>\n  host your explicit pages on <code>https:\/\/explicit.example.com\/...<\/code>, and your non-explicit<br \/>\n  pages on <code>https:\/\/www.example.com\/...<\/code>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  If you don&#8217;t group pages separately, our systems might determine that your entire site seems<br \/>\n  explicit in nature and filter the entire site when the SafeSearch filter is on, even if some pages<br \/>\n  might not be explicit.\n<\/p>\n<aside class=\"note\">It&#8217;s not necessary to use the word &#8220;explicit&#8221; in the domain. It only matters<br \/>\n  that the pages are grouped together on another domain or subdomain that&#8217;s separate from your<br \/>\n  non-explicit pages.<br \/>\n<\/aside>\n<h3 id=\"mark-specific-pages\" tabindex=\"-1\">Mark specific pages as explicit with metadata<\/h3>\n<p>\n  Google has algorithms to automatically detect explicit pages, including text, images, and videos.<br \/>\n  While not necessary, adding metadata can be be a practical way for you to tag a few explicit pages<br \/>\n  on your site or if you want to be sure that a particular page is filtered for SafeSearch users:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#add-metadata\">Add metadata to pages with explicit content<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#use-video-family-friendly-tag\">Use the <code>&lt;video:family_friendly><\/code> tag in your video sitemap<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 id=\"add-metadata\" tabindex=\"-1\">Add metadata to pages with sexually explicit content<\/h4>\n<p>\n  To mark a particular page as explicit, add <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/meta-tags\/#rating\">rating markup<\/a><br \/>\n  with the <code>adult<\/code> value either as a<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/meta-tags\/#rating\"><code>meta<\/code> tag<\/a> or an HTTP response header.<br \/>\n  We recommend adding this tag to any page with sexually explicit content.\n<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Google also recognizes <code>&lt;meta name=\"rating\" content=\"RTA-5042-1996-1400-1577-RTA\"><\/code><br \/>\n  as an equivalent way to identify pages with sexually explicit content. Either tag is fine; it&#8217;s<br \/>\n  not required to add both tags.\n<\/p>\n<aside class=\"note\">If you use a CMS, such as Wix, WordPress, or Blogger, you might not be able to<br \/>\n  edit your HTML directly, or you might prefer not to. Instead, your CMS might have a search engine<br \/>\n  settings page or some other mechanism to tell search engines about <code>meta<\/code> tags. If you want to add a<br \/>\n  <code>meta<\/code> tag to your website, search for instructions about modifying the <code>&lt;head><\/code> of<br \/>\n  your page on your CMS (for example, search for &#8220;wix add meta tags&#8221;).<br \/>\n<\/aside>\n<h4 id=\"use-video-family-friendly-tag\" tabindex=\"-1\">Use the <code>&lt;video:family_friendly&gt;<\/code> tag in your video sitemap<\/h4>\n<p>\n  If you have a range of videos on your site, including content appropriate for all ages as well as<br \/>\n  sexually explicit or content that contains graphic violence, make use of the<br \/>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/alienroad.com\/google-bilgi-bankasi\/video-sitemaps-and-alternatives\/#family-friendly\"><code>&lt;video:family_friendly><\/code><br \/>\n  tag in your video sitemap<\/a>. You only need to use this tag (set to <code>no<\/code>) for<br \/>\n  videos that are explicit.
