Signals specific URLs to be visited first, for new or important pages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They are complementary, not alternatives. The sitemap describes the site as its owner understands it; the Metrica tag describes it as visitors experience it; reindexing handles the specific page that matters today. A site relying on one channel is discoverable only to the degree that channel is accurate.<\/p>\n<h2>What none of them guarantee<\/h2>\n<p>Discovery is not inclusion. A page can be crawled and still excluded \u2014 as a duplicate, as low-value or low-demand, or because a directive forbids it. Submission tools shorten the wait; they do not change the verdict.<\/p>\n<h2>The prerequisites<\/h2>\n<p>All three channels assume the pages are actually reachable: a plain <code>&lt;a href&gt;<\/code> path from somewhere, a <code>200 OK<\/code> response, no blocking directive, and content present in the HTML the robot receives. A submission tool pointed at a page the robot cannot use produces a &#8220;request processed&#8221; status and nothing else.<\/p>\n<h2>The practical setup<\/h2>\n<p>For a new site: sitemap first, Metrica tag linked and crawling enabled after reviewing the sample pages, and reindexing kept for genuinely important changes rather than routine publishing.
