  • Make each one unique.<\/strong> Template or near-identical descriptions most likely will not be shown at all.<\/li>\n
  • Write real sentences<\/strong> reflecting the page, without keyword overuse, capital letters or advertising slogans.<\/li>\n
  • Prioritise important pages<\/strong>, catalogue pages first.<\/li>\n
  • Include useful specifics<\/strong> \u2014 price, colour, delivery city. Concrete facts are what make a description worth reading.<\/li>\n
  • Match the page language.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Make it different from the title<\/code>.<\/strong> A description repeating the title gives Yandex nothing new to show.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The concession for large sites<\/h2>\n

    Yandex explicitly recommends generating descriptions from database fields<\/strong> on stores where writing them by hand is impractical \u2014 size, weight, availability. This matters: generation is endorsed, provided the output is genuinely differentiated by real data. The prohibition is on descriptions that are identical, not on descriptions that are automated.<\/p>\n

      Not to control the snippet \u2014 that is not on offer \u2014 but to give Yandex a better option than the one it would assemble from the page.
