The XML validator checks a feed against its XSD schema \u2014 syntax, structure, content model and data types \u2014 for the XML files that transmit data to Yandex services.<\/p>\n

The limitation, stated plainly<\/h2>\n

It does not check the set of elements in the feed.<\/strong> A file missing an element that a partner programme requires will pass validation and then fail to work in the programme<\/em>. Yandex says outright that you must check the elements manually against the programme’s technical requirements.<\/p>\n

This is the trap: a green result here means well-formed, not fit for purpose. Teams treat validation as sign-off and then spend weeks wondering why nothing appears.<\/p>\n

The schemas available<\/h2>\n

  • Doctors<\/strong> \u2014 a YML feed of doctors and medical services (the default selection).<\/li>\n
  • Realty<\/strong> \u2014 the export format for Yandex Realty listings.<\/li>\n
  • Videos<\/strong> \u2014 video data for Yandex Video.<\/li>\n
  • Market<\/strong> \u2014 the YML export for online store search.<\/li>\n
  • Business<\/strong> \u2014 branch data for bulk addition to Yandex Maps and search snippets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Selecting the wrong schema produces an error, and because Doctors is the default<\/strong>, the first validation attempt of a Market feed usually fails for that reason alone.<\/p>\n

    How to use it in practice<\/h2>\n

    1. Select the right schema first.<\/li>\n
    2. Validate for structural correctness.<\/li>\n
    3. Then check element coverage by hand against the programme’s requirements \u2014 the step the tool does not perform.<\/li>\n
    4. Re-validate after any generator change, since feeds are produced by code that changes for unrelated reasons.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Where it fits<\/h2>\n

      Feeds are how large, frequently changing datasets reach Yandex, as opposed to markup for small stable data.
