Baidu Search Resource Platform

2 min read

The Baidu Search Resource Platform (百度搜索资源平台) is the equivalent of Search Console, and everything Baidu offers a site owner runs through it: submission, diagnosis, display settings and the notices that arrive when an algorithm affects the site.

What it provides

  • Resource submission — ordinary collection, fast collection, sitemap files, API push, dead-link submission, mobile adaptation.
  • Site data — index volume, traffic and keywords, crawl frequency, crawl diagnosis, crawl exceptions, robots testing.
  • Search display — site sublinks, site attributes, name and logo.
  • Optimisation and maintenance — site revision, and the page-optimisation suggestions.
  • Feedback — the complaint centre, which is a genuine channel rather than a formality.

Why it is not optional

Several things exist only here. Submission quotas, the adaptation relationship between PC and mobile URLs, the site revision declaration, and the notification that an algorithm has restricted the site — none of it is visible from outside, and none of it can be inferred from analytics.

What it requires

A Baidu account and verified ownership of the site. Verification uses the familiar methods — a file, a meta tag, or a DNS record — and unverified sites see almost nothing.

The practical difference from Search Console

  • Submission is active here in a way it is not in Google: ordinary and fast collection have daily quotas, and the quota is a resource to be managed.
  • Mobile adaptation is a declared relationship rather than an inference.
  • Site revision is a formal declaration, not just redirects.
  • The interface and its documentation are in Chinese, and the feedback channel operates in Chinese.

The first-week sequence

Verify the site, submit a sitemap, connect API push if the site publishes regularly, declare the mobile adaptation if there is a separate mobile site, check crawl diagnosis for spider access, and read the optimisation suggestions. That is the measurement layer the rest of the work depends on.

How we apply this

The operational difference clients underestimate is language: the platform, its documentation and the feedback channel are Chinese, so a Baidu engagement needs someone who can read it or it stalls at the first notice. The other is that submission is an active, quota-limited task here — treating it like Google’s passive sitemap model leaves new pages waiting weeks.
