Fast collection (快速收录) is the priority submission channel, with a daily quota tied to the site’s standing rather than available to everyone equally.
What it is for
Pages where being indexed quickly has value: news, time-sensitive announcements, newly published articles in a competitive field, and anything at risk of being republished elsewhere before Baidu sees the original.
The quota is the point
Because the daily allowance is limited, fast collection is a resource to allocate rather than a firehose. Spending it on an archive, on pages Baidu already holds, or on routine low-value updates leaves nothing for the pages where speed actually matters. The allocation decision belongs with whoever knows which content is commercially time-sensitive — which is rarely the developer who built the integration.
How quota is earned
Baidu’s guidance on index volume explains the underlying mechanism: publishing volume and frequency feed the site’s quota; when they fall, crawl frequency falls first and index volume follows. Quotas track a site’s demonstrated production and quality, so the way to more submission capacity is a consistent publishing operation, not a request.
The practical arrangement
- Fast collection — today’s genuinely time-sensitive pages, within the quota.
- Ordinary API push — everything else published today.
- Sitemap — structural coverage and the back catalogue.
What it does not do
Submission is not inclusion. A page submitted through the fastest channel is still assessed on quality, duplication and the standards that apply to its type. Fast collection shortens the wait for a verdict; it does not change the verdict.
The measurement
Watch the gap between submission and appearance in the index for the pages you prioritised. If pages submitted through the fast channel are not appearing meaningfully sooner, the constraint is not submission speed — it is quality or duplication, and the quota is being spent for nothing.
How we apply this
The quota forces a decision most teams never make: which of today’s pages actually need to be indexed today. We set that rule with the client — news and time-sensitive commercial pages in the fast channel, everything else through ordinary push — and then measure whether prioritised pages really do appear sooner. When they do not, the problem was never submission.
