The methods, and what each is good at

• Sitemap — complete coverage of the site as its owner defines it, processed on the next crawl.
• Metrica tag crawling — discovery of pages visitors actually reach, including those the sitemap never knew about.
• IndexNow — immediate notification of created, changed and deleted pages, the only channel that reports removals promptly.
• Reindex pages — a manual queue for specific URLs, visited before anything else on the next crawl. Indexing may take between 3 and 7 days.

The timing figure worth quoting

Three to seven days for a submitted page is the realistic expectation, and it is the number to give a client asking why a page published this morning is not in search this afternoon. Statuses for submitted pages are visible on the same screen, and pages can be added to important page monitoring from there — which turns a manual check into a notification.

The distinction Yandex flags

Reindexing is for pages that exist. To remove a deleted page from results, the separate Remove pages from search results tool is the correct instrument. Submitting a deleted URL for reindexing achieves nothing; the robot confirms it is gone and the page leaves on its own schedule.
