Aggregate indexing numbers hide the failure of individual pages that matter. Checking important pages explicitly is a separate discipline.
How to do it
- List the commercially critical URLs — usually twenty to fifty.
- Check each with the page check tool.
- Add them to important page monitoring so changes are reported.
Why it is worth the effort
A site can have ninety-five percent of its pages indexed and be missing the five pages that generate revenue.
