Two tools answer whether the pages that matter are actually in search, and the difference between them is scope: one watches a chosen list continuously, the other checks a single URL on demand.
Important page monitoring
Add the URLs under Indexing → Important page monitoring, up to 100 per site. The table shows each page’s status in search, and — the part worth knowing — the three-dot menu beside a status explains why a page was excluded and how to fix it. The diagnosis is attached to the row rather than requiring a separate investigation.
After fixing, submit the page for reindexing so the robot returns sooner than its own schedule would bring it.
Page check
For a quick answer on one URL: Indexing → Check page, then Learn more → page version in the database. Yandex adds the caution that matters most here: a page can be crawled by the robot and still not be included in search. Presence in the database is not presence in results, and reading the first as the second is the most common misdiagnosis in this whole area.
Crawl statistics as the third view
When neither of the above explains it, crawl statistics shows what the server answered and when — the event record behind the state.
Building a routine that works
Populate the monitoring list from commercial value rather than traffic: the pages behind paid campaigns, the top revenue categories, the pages that took months to rank. Then enable notifications, so the tool reports to you instead of waiting to be visited. A monitoring list nobody opens is the same as no monitoring at all, and the notification is what converts it into an early-warning system.
The sequence
Monitoring says something changed; page check says what the state is now; crawl statistics says what the server did. Working them in that order localises almost any indexing problem within minutes.
Cómo lo aplicamos
We populate the monitoring list from revenue rather than from Yandex’s click recommendations, because the pages worth watching are the ones that would hurt if they broke, not the busiest. The distinction we spend the most time explaining is crawled versus in search — clients see a recent crawl date, conclude the page is fine, and the exclusion reason is sitting one click away in the same table.
