The generated sitelinks for a site are listed under Display in the search → SERP links. Unlike Google, Yandex both shows you what it produced and lets you influence it.
What the page gives you
- The list of sitelinks the robot has generated, per page.
- The ability to review them and, within limits, adjust which appear and in what order.
The value is mostly diagnostic. Reading Yandex’s selection tells you which sections it considers important, and that is a direct statement about how it understands the site’s structure — information no other report provides.
How to read the list
Three questions are worth asking of it:
- Are the commercially important sections there? If the pages that generate revenue are absent while a support page and a blog category are present, the site’s internal linking is pointing the robot at the wrong places.
- Is the wording usable? Sitelink text comes from page names. A sitelink reading “More” is a page-naming problem visible in search results.
- Is anything there that should not be? A legacy section or a promotion that ended is a link users will still click.
What editing can and cannot do
You are adjusting a selection the robot made, not composing one. If a section was never generated, it cannot be added here — the fix is upstream: give the section a clear name, link to it from the main navigation, and let visitors use it. The robot generates sitelinks from popular internal destinations, so making a section genuinely popular is the mechanism.
After changes
Sitelinks update when the robot re-crawls and re-evaluates. Changes are not immediate, and a sitelink can be removed again if the robot later finds a more suitable page or the site structure changes.
Where it fits
Sitelink work belongs with snippet work: it changes how the result looks and how many people click it, without changing position. It is cheap, it is visible to every searcher who sees the brand, and it is almost always left untouched.
Comment nous l'appliquons
We review this page at the start of an engagement because it is the clearest statement Yandex will give you about how it understands a site’s structure. When the generated sitelinks are all support and blog pages and none of the revenue sections appear, that is a finding about internal linking, and it is worth more than the sitelink editing itself.
