Site sublinks (站点子链) are Baidu’s equivalent of sitelinks — additional links under a result — with one large difference: they are submitted by the site and reviewed by Baidu staff, not merely generated. The review criteria are published, and they are strict.
Page eligibility
- Deceptive or pointless sites fail outright: low-quality collection, illegal, false content.
- If a sublink is an index or directory page, its main content must be rich and highly relevant to its subject.
- Login, registration, customer-service, search-box and software-download pages may pass — but only one of login or registration, and search result pages never pass.
- No mobile pages among site sublinks.
- Account-sharing sites fail on privacy grounds.
- Foreign-language sites are not open to sublinks.
The relationship between main link and sublinks
Subordination is judged on content, not URL structure — Baidu’s example pairs a game topic page as the main link with a game download page as a sublink, despite unrelated paths. Sublinks must not duplicate each other or the main link, and highly similar pages fail.
Title and summary rules — where most submissions fail
- Fluent, accurate, free of errors, garbled characters and keyword stacking; truncation must not impede reading.
- No superlatives or legally risky wording — Baidu names “first”, “ultimate”, “unique”, “unprecedented”, “incomparable”, “pay once use forever”.
- No promises, because Baidu cannot guarantee them — its examples include “green installation-free games, no bundling, safe” and “helps users obtain safe stable returns”.
- For sites that switch by IP region, no region names in the title or summary.
- Sublink titles and summaries must not be identical or nearly identical to each other.
- For copyright categories — images, film, novels, comics, software — the word “official” must be true.
- No contact details: no phone numbers, QQ, WeChat or addresses.
- Nothing time-limited, such as an event with dates.
- No disparagement of competitors or of comparable products.
How to approach a submission
Choose genuinely distinct destinations with substantial content, write plain descriptive summaries with no marketing language, and check every item on the list above before submitting. The review is human, the criteria are published, and a rejection costs another cycle.
Как мы это применяем
This is the most legalistic set of criteria Baidu publishes, and it reads like an advertising-compliance checklist because that is effectively what it is. The two that catch marketing teams every time are superlatives and promises — the exact language a copywriter is paid to produce. We draft sublink summaries as flat descriptions and let the marketing version live on the page instead.
