What Baidu treats as low quality

Ask AI about this page

1 min read

Baidu names the characteristics it treats as low quality, and the list is more specific than most engines publish.

The markers

  • Collected or lightly rewritten content.
  • Pages assembled from search results or tag aggregations with no added value.
  • Keyword-stuffed titles and text.
  • Advertising that dominates the content area.
  • Contact-detail spam, particularly on B2B pages.

Enforcement

Each of these maps to a named algorithm, which means the consequence is identifiable and, usually, recoverable.

How we apply this

The advantage of named algorithms is diagnosis: when a client is hit, we can usually identify which rule applied and target the remediation. That is a real improvement over guessing after an unnamed core update.
