Yandex’s answers to the recurring markup questions are unusually blunt, and two of them save a great deal of wasted effort.
Does markup improve ranking?
No. Markup can make the site more visible in search and attract more of the right visitors, but it does not directly affect ranking. Anyone selling structured data as a ranking service is selling something else.
Is every Schema.org type supported?
No. Yandex processes a specific list, published in its “what data can be sent” section. Types outside that list are parsed by nobody here and produce no snippet.
The markup is valid — why is there no snippet?
Because validation is only the first of three conditions. The data must be correctly marked, indexed, and moderated. Moderation is the step most people do not know exists: a human check that the data matches the site. Once approved, snippets typically appear about two weeks later. If the data is rejected, the moderator sends a message in the console explaining why and what to change — so an unexplained absence of snippets is worth checking against your notifications.
How often is markup regenerated?
Within two weeks. Unsupported or incorrect markup is simply skipped rather than reported as an error on the page.
Microformats or Schema.org?
The algorithms prefer neither; use whichever is convenient. Schema.org is recommended as more modern, fuller and more actively developed.
What if no markup type fits?
Yandex’s answer is reassuring and worth passing on: the robot indexes the information perfectly well without markup, and its absence does not affect how pages are displayed. To control the description shown in results, use the description meta tag. Markup is an enhancement, not a prerequisite.
The realistic timeline
Implement, validate, wait for indexing, wait for moderation, allow two weeks. Four to six weeks from deployment to visible snippet is normal, and treating a two-week silence as failure leads teams to rewrite markup that was working.
Biz bunu nasıl uyguluyoruz
The two answers we quote to clients most often are that markup does not affect ranking and that moderation stands between valid markup and a visible snippet. Both prevent the same mistake: rewriting perfectly good markup because nothing appeared in the first fortnight. When a snippet genuinely never arrives, the moderator’s message in the console usually explains exactly why, and almost nobody thinks to look there.
