Page statistics in search results

Page statistics answers a different question from query statistics: not how a keyword performs, but how well an individual page converts the attention it already receives. Yandex shows the first 3,000 pages that appeared in the top 50, under Efficiency → Page statistics.

What the report contains

Impressions, clicks and CTR by default, with the other metrics available on request, updated daily. As elsewhere in the console, the figures include both organic results and dynamic placements where Yandex Direct advertising appears — so a page with active advertising will read higher than its organic performance alone.

The two dimensions worth using

  • Region. The list shows every region where the site reached the top 50 at least once, sorted by impressions. Filter to a region and sort by clicks and you have the pages that actually earn attention in that city, which is rarely the same list as nationally.
  • Device type. Filter to mobile, sort by CTR, and the pages whose snippets fail on a small screen separate themselves immediately. Titles that read well on a desktop result and truncate badly on a phone are the single most common finding here.

Reading it as snippet work

Yandex frames this report as a way to evaluate snippet effectiveness, and that framing is the useful one. High impressions with low CTR means the page is being shown and passed over: the title and description are promising the wrong thing, or promising nothing. That is an editing job measured in hours, and it changes traffic without changing position.

How to work through it

  1. Sort by impressions, descending. These are the pages Yandex is already willing to show.
  2. Read the CTR column against the site’s own average, not against a published benchmark — benchmarks ignore query type, and a navigational query behaves nothing like a research one.
  3. Rewrite the titles and descriptions of the worst offenders in that top slice.
  4. Re-read the same report four weeks later. Position unchanged and clicks up is the expected result.

Its limits

Three thousand pages is a cap, not a total. On a large catalogue the long tail is invisible here and has to be analysed through query monitoring, which reaches 150,000 rows.

Biz bunu nasıl uyguluyoruz

This report is where we find the fastest work on a mature site: the twenty pages with the most impressions and the worst click-through are usually a two-day rewriting job with a measurable result inside a month. We always check it filtered to mobile first, because that is where the truncated title problem shows up and where most of the traffic is.
